Começa hoje em Istambul o 5º Forum Mundial da Água, organizado pelo Conselho Mundial da Água. Pela primeira vez, os trabalhos podem ser seguidos em directo via videoconferência e são permitidos inputs externos com contributos à discussão, excepto nos seis painéis mais elevados de discussão. Naturalmente, não se espera que os problemas de acesso à agua de mil milhões de pessoas em todo o planeta sejam resolvidos, mas esse é um dos assuntos de maior importância, sem dúvida. O exemplo da metodologia que Portugal empregou para combater e enfrentar a seca de 2005 será um dos pontos altos da participação portuguesa, liderada pelo Ministro do Ambiente Nuno Correia.
